The Fort Vancouver National Trust, which operates the Pearson Air Museum, has reported that Saturday’s Dancing with the Local Stars event broke records for attendance and dollars raised. The August 22 hangar dance competition was attended by more than 550 people and raised more than $72,000 for the aviation museum’s educational programs.

Dancing with the Local Stars draws over 500 people to this summer-time event. Join Arthur Murray Dance Studios and watch community leaders compete while dancing with their professional dance instructors. Celebrity judges coupled with a Master of Ceremonies (last year KATU weatherman Rod Hill) entertain the crowd with their commentary about the hard working dancers.

Come improve your dance style and join in on the dance lessons, provided by trained professionals. This fun, well attended, fundraiser event for the Pearson Air Museum attracts more people every year.

A1Christmas-at-Pearson-Air-Museum.jpgDecember 11, 2010

Bring your cameras and have your picture taken with Santa Claus in the cockpit of a vintage 1941 Ryan PT21. Visitors post letters to Santa in the North Pole mailbox for him to read on his way back to the Pole. There will be hot cocoa and cookies for the kids plus souvenir ornaments for each family.

Last year's first ever event was a huge success. Occurring simultaneously with the well-known Christmas at the Fort creates a family friendly atmosphere on the Reserve that you won't want to miss.
