Groups of any size, small and large, from elementary school classes (both in Oregon and Washington), churches, retirement communities, conventions, reunions and the Red Hat Society are booking guided tours at Fort Vancouver National Site. Our knowledgeable guides, trained by the National Park Service, will engage your group by sharing the many stories of our colorful past – including Fort Vancouver, Pearson Air Museum, Officers Row, Vancouver Barracks and more. Fort Vancouver’s vast array of public programs creates a dynamic, fun and educational tourist destination for people of all ages. Groups of 15 and larger will be eligible for discounts and packages that include lunch.

Tour 1: Officers Row and Vancouver Barracks

Guide: $5 per person

Explore Officers Row, a tree-lined street with twenty-two fully restored nineteenth century homes north of the Vancouver Barracks Parade Grounds. Listed on the National Historic Register, today these homes are offices and residences with several buildings open to the public. Start or finish your tour with a meal at the restaurant located in the stately Ulysses S. Grant House, the oldest home on the Row.

Tour 2: Fort Vancouver

Guide and Admission: $6 per person
Address: 1001 E. Fifth Street, Vancouver, WA

Nestled snugly near downtown Vancouver, Fort Vancouver shares the stories of the British Hudson’s Bay Company international fur trade emporium and the region’s first military post, and showcases a premier archaeological site. Select a demonstration at the Blacksmith Shop, Carpenter Shop, Bake House or Kitchen. Stop at the Visitor Center to view exhibits and documentary films and to visit the bookstore. Touring the Fort with a guide grants groups access to spaces not normally open to the public. On summer weekends, special events and cultural programs are also available.

Tour 3: Pearson Air Museum

Guide and Admission: $8 per person
Address: 1115 E. 5th Street, Vancouver, WA

At Pearson Air Museum you’ll experience the “Golden Age of Aviation,” when flying was new to the world and those who flew in open cockpit aircraft, with the wind in their faces, were the ultimate daredevils! Enter the museum and you enter a world of wild barnstormers, experimental aircraft and the flying aces of World War I and II. Pearson Air Museum is located on historic Pearson Field, the oldest active airfield in the United States. Shop the Pearson Air Museum Bookstore for aviation-inspired books, toys, apparel and gifts.

Tour 4: Water Resources Education Center

Guide: $4 per person
Address: 4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA

When you visit Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center overlooking the Columbia River near Marine Park, you’ll experience hands-on exhibits, educational programs and events designed to instruct how to be better environmental stewards. Enjoy the hands-on, interactive activities in the Exhibit Hall. View the nature-inspired art in the White Sturgeon Art Gallery and take in the panoramic view of the Columbia River from the Center’s balconies. You can get a closer look at the rolling Columbia River and nearly 50 acres of wildlife-rich wetlands from the Marine Park Overlook that also connects visitors to Vancouver’s Renaissance Trail, a paved waterfront trail enjoyed by walkers, runners and bicyclists.
